Who we are
Hey there! A little about the artists: Liv and Roza grew up in the outlandish woods of NH. In the 2000s, on top of a misty hill, wind blowing amongst the milkweed plants, you could find two little girls hand painting, scribbling, and squashing clay, hard at work to create something magical. Even amidst the feet of snow, the two girls made creations.
As she grew, so did Liv’s fascination with dolls. Clay dolls, cloth dolls, books — all about dolls. All the while her little sister, Roza, watched.
Fast-forward to 2019 and Liv was hard at work on “redesigning” all sorts of vinyl dolls. Repainting their faces, re-rooting hair, making outfits. But she needed more, more freedom to customize, more freedom to play. Then Liv officially found BJDs and a light switched on. She madly begun to try to create her own out of clay, researching and studying. Finally she caved in and bought her first resin cast BJD and the rest is history. She started faceup commissions not long after, and continued throughout the pandemic as dolls quickly became her world as the harsh realities of the “real” world became harder to bear. Each doll was a friend. Each reflected a little girl that had always loved dolls so dearly. They became the only things that felt real to Liv.
Liv and Roza lost their father amidst the pandemic and thus the precious fair-tale world seemed lost as well. But despite this, Liv honed her skills and pushed forward and began to sculpt, mold and cast her very own BJDs! After the years of quietly watching, Roza picked up the pieces that Liv could no longer carry alone. Now Liv and Roza have joined together, each taking a string of their own to carefully craft the tapestry that is today’s Milkweed and Honey. Step into a world full of comfort, creativity and childish wonder by bringing home one of our many characters. May they comfort you and bring a smile to you as sweat as milk and honey.
